Input needed on South Manchester Rail Trail extension project

The public is invited to attend a Local Concerns Meeting on January 4, 2017, at 6:30 PM in the Manchester Public Works building located at 475 Valley St. in Manchester for discussion of two Rail Trail / Bike and Pedestrian connection projects in Manchester (see map above). The City’s consultant, VHB, will present information on the proposed projects.

The intent of the meeting is to collect input from the public, municipal officials, resource agencies, and abutting property owners on their ideas and concerns relative to the existing bike and pedestrian conditions along the project corridors as part of the data collection phase. Proposed design alternatives will be presented at a subsequent meeting. Two projects will be discussed as follows:

6:30 PM: South Manchester Trail Extension South: Gold Street to Perimeter Road
State Project Numbers: #29811      Federal Project Number: X-A004(311),

7:30 PM: South Manchester Trail Extension North + Connections: South Beach St to Riverwalk     State Project Numbers: #40428     Federal Project Number: X-A004(399),

  1. We live and enjoy the southern end in Windam/Salem . I would urge anyone who runs, walks, bikes, ski to go to the meeting to encourage more rail trail access
