“Life doesn’t guarantee that hard work will equal victory. I do the work because I want to see the best that’s what is in me. I’m humbled & grateful by where my work has taken me. My hope for each of you is that you choose a healthy path, dig in when it gets hard & scream and shout when it pays off!” – Jenny Simpson, 4 time Olympic & World Championship Medalist who just won her 8th straight 5th ave mile in a record time this weekend. She edged out VT native and recent UNH Grad Ell Purrier by .1 seconds.
Simpson is one of my favorite runners of all time. She embraces journey we are all on to figure out what is inside us with grace and a smile. You can tell she has never lost the joy of running. And THAT is the best lesson of all.
We can’t all be world class athletes, but we can all love and embrace the journey.
